Employee Assistance Programs Reduce Absenteeism & Presenteeism
After receiving services from an employee assistance program (EAP), employees had improved work functioning, in terms of reduced absenteeism and presenteeism, compared to a matched group of employees who did not seek or receive EAP services. Absenteeism among the EAP group dropped from a mean of 15.2 hours away from work due to a personal or work problem during the past 30 days to 10.7 hours.
