‘Community Behavioral Health’ Without Case Management
A couple of weeks ago, my colleague Monica E. Oss turned an eye to the changing role and reimbursement of targeted case management (TCM) – see The Morphing Of ‘Case Management’. As part of that coverage, she referenced Iowa’s Medicaid system, where the state’s new contracts with three managed care organizations (MCO) is leading to changes in their approach to case management (see Iowa Medicaid Launches Managed Care Initiative April 1, 2016 ).
When I read the article, the first thing that came to my mind was that case management as a distinct billable behavioral health service was being moved . . .
