Connecticut Implementing Emergency Room Data Exchange to Track Critical Incident Among Group Home Residents With Developmental Disabilities
The Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is developing a system that permits monitoring of emergency room information for group home residents with developmental disabilities. The system will use a data exchange agreement that allows the department to access Medicaid claims data to better detect unreported or unrecorded critical incidents involving group home residents. The goal is to better monitor emergency department visits for injury or illness due to potential abuse or neglect.
