Former Youth Services International Florida Employees File Whistleblower Retaliation Complaint
On June 17, 2016, two former employees of Youth Services International (YSI) sued the organization for whistleblower retaliation. The two employees had reported problems at YSI’s Palm Beach center, and their reports were said to be instrumental to the City of Palm Beach effort to pressure the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to end YSI's contract. In September 2015, YSI announced plans to exit the Palm Beach contract, and a few months later, the DJJ canceled YSI’s seven remaining juvenile justice contracts.
