San Diego County Launches New Mental Health Services & Supportive Housing Plan For Homeless Services

On June 21, 2016, the San Diego Board of Supervisors approved implementation of a new plan for homeless services. The plan, called Project One For All, over the next two years will provide intensive wraparound services for up to 1,250 homeless individuals with serious mental illness who are eligible for supportive housing. County government will work with 18 cities, six housing authorities and landlords to provide shelter and treatment.The goal is to reduce hospitalizations, calls for emergency transport, and the frequency with which law enforcement responds to psychiatric emergencies.
