Philadelphia Child Welfare System Working To Regain Full State Credentialing

The City and County of Philadelphia Department of Human Services (DHS) is working on implementing a plan of correction to regain full state credentialing for its child welfare system. In May 2016, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) revoked Philadelphia's child welfare certificate of compliance and placed Philadelphia on provisional status through November 2016 due to about 70 violations of child welfare practice. Three other counties in the state also have provisional licenses; they are Dauphin, Luzerne, and York.
