New York Agrees To Redouble Efforts To Recoup Overpayments For Medicaid Mental Health Outpatient & Community Support Services From 2003 To 2012
The New York Department of Health (DOH) and Office of Mental Health (OMH) agreed with a recommendation from the federal government to continue efforts to recoup $54.8 million in overpayments from 2003 to 2012 for Medicaid community-based outpatient mental health services. The state also agreed to continue working to recoup overpayments made to provider organizations that went out of business or that filed for bankruptcy.
Between 2003 and 2012, OMH overpaid its Medicaid mental health provider organizations delivering Comprehensive Outpatient Program Services (COPS) and Community Support Program (CSP) programs, but has not yet refunded the entire federal share . . .
