Massachusetts Health Connector To Eliminate Copays For Addiction Treatment For Subsidized Individual Plans

On July 14, 2016, the Massachusetts Health Connector board approved eliminating all out-of-pocket (OOP) costs for medication-assisted addiction treatment (MAT) for people enrolled in individual subsidized health plans. Health Connector is Massachusetts' state-run health insurance marketplace. The new policy will go into effect for the 2017 plan year for ConnectorCare health insurance policies sold through the marketplace. These plans enroll about 173,000 people annually.
