80% Of Physician Practices Are At Capacity
A survey of 17,236 physicians in the United States found that 80% reported having no capacity to see new consumers because their practices are at capacity. About 48% of the physicians reported career plans that would further limit consumer access. These plans included reducing hours, retirement, accepting a non-clinical position, or opting out of health plan networks by switching to a “concierge” model. About 46.8% plan to accelerate their retirement plans, and 14.4% plan to retire within one to three years.
