Court Overrules Illinois Policy To Manage Home Service Overtime; New Rules Pending

The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) is revising rules to manage overtime payments for its Home Services Program (HSP) due to a legal challenge; the state is in the process of finalizing the new rules. The goal is to increase community capacity for the HSP, and to reduce how much overtime the state pays HSP caregivers. IDHS is going through the rulemaking process and currently evaluating all of the public comments received since the proposed rule was issued in August 2016.
