Family Impact Network In Spokane Reports Fewer Missed Family Visitations In Pilot With Uber
Family Impact Network (FIN) in Spokane tested using the ride-sharing service Uber in a pilot to facilitate supervised family visitation and reported that the rate of missed visits declined by 25%. FIN holds a Network Administrator contract with the Washington State Children’s Administration to manage foster care services in eastern Washington. The six-month pilot started in October 2015. By the end of the pilot, 25 parents had used the Uber services for 427 rides. FIN reported that as the percentage of parents using Uber increased, the no-show rate declined.
