CMS Rejects New Hampshire Medicaid Request To Add Work Requirements

New Hampshire Medicaid will not be implementing work requirements for beneficiaries enrolled in its New Hampshire Health Protection Program (NHHPP) and the NHHPP Premium Assistance demonstration project. The work requirements were proposed in the state's 1115 waiver amendment request, which was submitted on August 10, 2016.  The state wanted to require that adults in the Medicaid expansion population work at least 30 hours per week, or participate in work-related activities. In its rejection of the work requirement, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) said it did not support the objectives of the Medicaid program, and could . . .
