Virginia Opts To Avoid CCBHC Demonstration
After planning its Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) demonstration, the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) decided not to participate. The state’s planning efforts focused on transforming eight Community Service Boards (CSBs) into CCBHCs. CCBHCs are specialized behavioral health provider organizations that would receive a prospective payment for delivering 11 core services, including screening, assessment, outpatient treatment, psychiatric rehabilitation, and targeted case management.
