Veterans Health Administration To Roll Out Online Appointment Scheduling In January 2017

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) plans to begin online scheduling of medical appointments nationwide in January 2017. Veterans will be able to download a mobile application for their smartphones, or can use an online version of the scheduling application through the Veteran Appointment Request (VAR) app. Initially, veterans will be able to schedule primary care appointments. Later, VHA plans to expand the app capabilities to schedule appointments for optometry, audiology and mental-health.

The VAR app allows veterans to schedule an appointment or submit a scheduling request to VHA. A companion Schedule Manager (SM) app, is designed for VHA staff . . .
