North Carolina Agrees To Settlement For Children With I/DD & Mental Illness

On October 14, 2016, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) entered a settlement agreement with Disability Rights North Carolina to improve services for children diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) and mental illness. In 2014, Disability Rights North Carolina had challenged the state policies on Medicaid Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) for this population of dual diagnosis children.
