Feds Charge Former Executives Of Insys, Maker of Fentanyl, With Racketeering
The former chief executive officer and a few other key ex-employees of Arizona drug company Insys Therapeutics were arrested on December 8, 2016, and charged with racketeering and kickbacks by federal prosecutors. Specifically, the defendants in this case are alleged to have bribed medical professionals in several states in exchange for prescribing Insys’s fentanyl-based pain pharmaceutical beyond the needs of their patients.
