Feds’ Audit Finds New Jersey Wrongly Claimed $95 Million In Medicaid Payments For Mental Health Services

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has estimated that the State of New Jersey was paid at least $95 million for unallowable partial care program services for mental health disorders. Missing documentation in partial care claims submitted by New Jersey Medicaid led to the conclusion that the claims were for unallowable services.
