Ohio Legislature Considers Imposing Monthly Premiums On Medicaid Expansion Population

Ohio Governor John Kasich’s executive budget proposal includes a provision to require the Medicaid expansion population to pay a monthly premium of up to $20 per month. The provision targets childless, non-pregnant adults who have modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) of between 100% and 138% of the federal poverty level (FPL). The monthly premium amount would be capped at 2% of household income.
