Pennsylvania To Create Department Of Health & Human Services, Consolidating Four Departments

On January 30, 2017, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced plans to combine four existing state departments to create a Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The plans were presented in the Governor's 2017-2018 budget. If approved by the legislature, the HHS will combine Pennsylvania’s Departments of Aging (PDA), Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), Health (DOH), and Human Services (DHS).
