Texas Survey Finds One-Third Of Informal Caregivers Employed, 76% Reside With Care Recipient
In Texas, about 33% of informal caregivers, the family and friends of someone needing long-term services and supports (LTSS) are employed; about 23% work full-time and 10% work part-time. The remaining 67% are not employed. About 76% of informal caregivers live with the care recipient. Many informal caregivers report high levels of stress due to their caregiving duties, and 9% of caregivers reported having no effective way to relieve their stress.
