Minnesota DHS To Create ‘Report Card’ For Assisted Living & Memory Care Units

A budget proposal by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) would create the state’s first standardized system for measuring the quality of assisted-living facilities (ALFs), including those with memory care units. The state has about 1,200 ALFs that serve more than 50,000 residents who are not able to safely live independently. Under the DHS proposal, the assisted living report card would include measures from existing data sources, such as state health inspections, as well as information gathered through biennial consumer surveys.
