23 Insurers Suing Feds To Recoup $480 Million In PPACA ‘Risk Corridor’ Payments

As of March 2017, 23 insurers have sued the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to seek payments with an aggregate value of about $480 million under the individual market risk corridor program created by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA). Two of the cases have been completed to final judgement, and one is on appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
