MACRA Likely To Cut Physicians’ Medicare Revenue
By 2030, provisions of the Medicare Access And CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) are likely to reduce physician Medicare revenue. The MACRA provisions are likely to reduce physician Medicare revenue by at least 2.3% and possibly as much as 7.1% below the 2015 Medicare rates. The reductions would be due MACRA provisions for alternative payment models (APMs), which are projected to decrease Medicare spending on physician services between 2015 through 2030 by at least $35 billion.
