Cuyahoga County Launches Reentry Employment Pilot Subsidizing Inmate Internships

On April 1, 2017, the Cuyahoga County Department of Health and Human Services/Office of Reentry launched a reentry employment pilot project with Towards Employment that subsidizes internships for former inmates. The pilot is slated to run through June 30, 2017. The goal of the pilot is to improve the likelihood of successful reentry into society with no further criminal justice involvement. The program is designed as a workforce engagement program with the broader goal of strengthening families and communities. The pilot is funded by $400,000 in state funds.
