Tennessee Launches Community-Based Foster Family Initiative To Increase Number Of Foster Homes
The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS) recently launched "TN Fosters," a community-based initiative to increase the number of foster homes, which will encourage churches, non-profit organizations, local government, and businesses to become more involved with recruiting and supporting foster families. The TN Fosters collaboration launched in December 2016.
The state’s goals for TN Fosters during 2017, are as follows:
Recruit a minimum of 100 adoptive homes for the population of children free for adoption who do not have a family identified.
Recruit and license 10% more foster homes than the number voluntarily closed in calendar . . .
