Eckerd Community Alternatives Ends Contract With Camelot Community Care

On May 10, 2017, Eckerd Community Alternatives, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Community-Based Care lead agency in Hillsborough County, ended its subcontract with Camelot Community Care to run the Ybor Heights Teen Center. Eckerd Community Alternatives is part of Eckerd Kids, a large non-profit child and family service provider organization founded in 1968. It has operations in 20 states. The center provided temporary after-hours shelter for youth entering the foster care system until placement in a family foster home or in a group home.
