Tennessee Attorney General Sues Operator Of 18 Pain Clinics For Medicaid Fraud
On May 11, 2017, the State of Tennessee sued Med Management, Inc. (MMi), operator of 18 pain clinics, for Medicaid fraud. The complaint, filed by Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III, said that the 18 clinics submitted millions of dollars in fraudulent claims to government health care programs, dating back to at least 2006. The state is seeking an estimated $7 million in damages plus civil penalties, totaling up to $21 million.
