Texas To Require ABA Professionals To Obtain Licenses

Newly enacted legislation in Texas requires behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts providing applied behavior analysis (ABA) to obtain licenses by September 1, 2018. The legislation directs the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to establish an occupational licensing structure and fees to license and regulate behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts. Other licensed professionals, such as psychologists, delivering ABA will be exempted from the need to obtain an additional license to continue providing the services.
