Medicare To Launch Skilled Nursing Value-Based Payment Program On October 1, 2018

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) plans to launch a value-based payment program involving skilled nursing facilities starting on October 1, 2018. The Skilled Nursing facility Value-Based Purchasing Program (SNFVBP) rewards skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) with incentive payments for the quality of care given to those with Medicare. It promotes better clinical outcomes for SNF consumers and makes their care experience better during their stay.
