Share Of Hospitals With Investors Linked To Post-Acute Care Provider Organizations Rises From 25% In 2005 To 50% In 2015
Between 2005 and 2015, the percentage of acute care hospitals that have an investor with other investments in the adjacent post-acute or hospice sector in the same market doubled. In 2005, 24.6% of hospitals had an investor that also had post-acute or hospice investments; by 2015 the share rose to 48.9% of hospitals. During the same period, the percentage of acute care hospitals listing a health company investor with more than a 5% ownership stake more than doubled, from 26.1% in 2005 to 56.9% in 2015.
