One-Third Of People Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementias Are Physically Aggressive

About one-third of people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or frontotemporal lobe dementia are physically aggressive. However, the patterns of physical aggression differed between people diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and people diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. People with frontotemporal lobe dementia exhibit physical aggression earlier in the course of illness than people with Alzheimer’s disease. People with frontotemporal dementia had a higher frequency of aggression than people with Alzheimer’s disease.
