Nebraska Juvenile Probation Lacks Policy For Supervising Youth Placed On Alternatives To Detention
The Nebraska Office of Probation, Juvenile Services Division (Probation), which oversees juvenile justice lacks adequate policies for supervising youth placed on alternative to detention, according to the Nebraska Office of Inspector General (OIG) of Child Welfare. The OIG said this policy gap led to supervisory decisions that were key factors in the 2016 suicide of a youth placed on alternative to detention.
