Texas Halts Plan For I/DD Managed Care Pilot, But Still Plans To Move LTSS For I/DD To Managed Care In 2020

In September 2017, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) halted its plans for a pilot program to test managed long-term services and supports (LTSS) for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) due to concerns about cost-effectiveness, timeliness, and use of resources. The state is actively in the process of redesigning the state’s system of care for people with I/DD so that by 2021 all LTSS for this population will be transitioned to managed care.
