Brain Scan Accuracy In Detecting ADHD In Children At 74%
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scans are 73.7% accurate in detecting attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children aged 7 to 14 years. Furthermore, MRIs are 80.1% accurate in determining ADHD-combined subtype (ADHD-C) from ADHD-inattentive subtype (ADHD-I), the two most common subtypes of ADHD.
These findings were reported in “Psychoradiologic Utility of MR Imaging for Diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: A Radiomics Analysis” by Huaiqiang Sun, PhD; Ying Chen, MD, PhD; Qiang Huang, PhD, Su Lui, PhD; Xiaoqi Huang, PhD, Yan Shi, MD; Xin Xu, MD; John A.
