January 7, 2010 On January 18, 2010, New Jersey's former Governor Jon S. Corzine signed a measure to legalize the use of medical marijuana in the state for patients diagnosed with severe illnesses such as cancer, AIDS, muscular dystrophy, or multiple sclerosis to have access to marijuana distributed through state- monitored dispensaries called "alternative treatment centers." The law goes into effect in January 2011. The state Health Department and Senior Services will license and monitor the dispensaries. Download the Report . . .
