Maryland Receives Federal Approval For New Developmental Disabilities Support Waiver
On December 7, 2017, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) Community Support Waiver. Combined with the DDA’s recently approved Family Supports Waiver (approved on November 21, 2017), a capped waiver to support families with children on the DDA Waiting List, the two waiver programs will enable 800 more Maryland residents to access supportive services. The waiver does provide for short-term exceptions to the budget cap based on exceptional needs.
