Philadelphia United Way Narrows 2019 Grant Focus To Ending Intergenerational Poverty
For its 2019 to 2021 grant cycle, the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) is focusing its impact fund grants on projects that end intergenerational poverty in the region. As part of this change, the organization has identified eight key strategy areas for the grants: school readiness, grade-level reading, connections to schools for at-risk youth, education and job training, living wages, asset building, family stability, and advocacy.
In its last three-year funding cycle, UWGPSNJ funded approximately 225 partners around 57 strategies for strengthening communities in nine counties across southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey . . .
