Connecticut Sued For Failure To Provide Timely Discharge From Civil Commitment

On January 25, 2018, the Connecticut Legal Rights Project sued the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and its state-operated facilities for keeping people under civil commitment at state hospitals in too-restrictive settings after they had demonstrated readiness to function in the community with supportive services.
