New Jersey Medicaid MCOs To Carve-In Behavioral Health In Medicaid Health Plans

On April 17, 2018, the New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS) notified the NJ FamilyCare (NJFC) managed care organizations (MCOs) that beginning July 1, 2018, the NJFC plans would be responsible for covering an expanded set of behavioral health benefits to certain members. The goal is to align behavioral health benefit coverage for NJFC beneficiaries enrolled in managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS), those enrolled in Fully Integrated Dual Eligible special needs plans (FIDE-SNPs), and those receiving services through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) waivers.

Currently these beneficiaries receive their medical services through a NJFC MCO . . .
