North Carolina Medicaid To Launch Cognitive Rehabilitation TBI Pilot
On April 20, 2018, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced plans to launch a Medicaid pilot project to offer cognitive rehabilitation services for adults diagnosed with traumatic brain injury (TBI) at age 22 or older. The pilot services will also include rehabilitation services such as supported employment, life skills training, and day supports. Enrollment is slated to begin on August 1, 2018, and will take place in Cumberland, Durham, Johnston, and Wake counties. The TBI pilot will be administered by Alliance Behavioral Healthcare, one of the state’s behavioral health managed care organizations.
