On May 7, 2018, Children's Hospital Colorado and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Colorado (Anthem) announced that they were launching a new value-based care program. The program is a version of Anthem's existing Quality-In-Sights®: Hospital Incentive Program (Q-HIP®), a value-based reimbursement program for general acute care hospitals that Anthem introduced in 2003. Anthem adapted Q-HIP to focus on outcomes important to pediatric populations. The pilot ties a portion of Children's Colorado's future reimbursement increases to its performance against the program outcomes scorecard.
