Pennsylvania Launches Corrections Data Exchange To Automate Medical Assistance Applications
On May 11, 2018, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) announced a collaboration with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) to implement a date exchange process to automate Medicaid benefits applications for re-entrants, the people being released from correctional facilities. The new data exchange streamlines the process for re-entrants who consent to submitting an application. A key goal is ensuring continuity of care for re-entrants with chronic health, mental health, or addiction disorder.
