United Way Of Greater Philadelphia & Southern NJ Announces $14.1 Million In Grants Focused On Intergenerational Poverty
On May 16, United Way of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) announced $14.1 million in grants to non-profit organizations selected for programs and interventions focused on ending intergenerational poverty. Philadelphia’s poverty rate is 25.7%. The grants, the first with this new focus, are part of a strategic transition at UWGPSNJ focusing investments solely on community strategies aimed at ending intergenerational poverty. Of the 122 non-profits awarded general operating support funding, 36 are new grantees, these new organizations focus on programs supporting early learning, career pathways and pipelines, and economic self-sufficiency.
