Lawsuit Alleges California Medicaid Fails To Provide Adequate In-Home Nursing Care For Children With Disabilities

On May 24, 2018, a lawsuit was filed against the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) alleging that the state Medicaid program (called Medi-Cal) fails to provide adequate in-home nursing care for children with disabilities. The lawsuit has two named plaintiffs, children with significant disabilities, and the complaint seeks class-action status. The plaintiffs seek to force the state to help them access in-home nursing care.
