The Arc Of New Mexico Launches Sexual Assault Services For People With Intellectual Disabilities

On July 1, 2018, the Arc of New Mexico launched a four-year pilot program to provide sexual assault victim advocacy services for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). The services are slated to go live before the end of 2018. The Arc of New Mexico anticipates serving about 25 people annually. Services are available through this program include legal advocacy including professional accompaniment and advocacy throughout investigation, judicial and all court proceeding; advocacy and technical assistance with medical and mental health professionals, team members and family members, support systems; referrals to other agencies and supports, presentation for awareness . . .
