The median survival time for people with dementia is six years. Median survival time depended on the type of dementia. Survival times vary from 6.4 years for those with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), 6.2 years for those with dementia due to Alzheimer's disease, 5.7 years for those with vascular dementia (VaD), 5.1 years for those with dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB).
