Georgia DFCS Announces ‘State Of Hope’ Initiative For Local Child Welfare Prevention

On June 25, 2018, the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) opened the first site selection process for its “State of Hope” initiative to boost local efforts to prevent child welfare involvement. The initiative has four priority areas: improving educational attainment of vulnerable youth; increasing awareness of trauma-informed services; improving the quality of birth parents, kin caregivers, foster/adoptive parents; and building economic self-sufficiency for individuals and families.
