CMS Approves Florida Plan Adding Community Behavioral Health To The Low-Income Safety Net Pool
On November 30, 2018, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved an amendment to the Florida Medicaid Managed Medical Assistance Waiver program that adds community behavioral health provider organizations as a participating provider group to the low-income pool (LIP). This change goes into effect for state fiscal year (SFY) 2018/19. Community behavioral health providers are organizations participating in the substance use disorder and mental health safety net system (Central Receiving Systems) administered by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).
