BOLD Act Signed To Expand U.S. Infrastructure To Address Alzheimer’s Disease
On December 31, 2018, new federal legislation was signed which authorized expanding activities related to Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive decline, and brain health under the Alzheimer’s Disease and Healthy Aging Program. The legislation is the "Building Our Largest Dementia Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act," or the "BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act". The Act provides for research grants to address Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias by advancing awareness, identifying and translating promising research findings, and expanding activities, including through public-private partnerships related to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and associated health disparities.
