Rhode Island DCYF Creates An Internal Unit To Support Kinship Caregivers
The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is launching an internal unit to support kinship caregivers, effective February 1, 2019. As part of this new approach, DCYF opted not to renew its kinship foster family support contracts, which had been set to expire on December 31, 2018. These contracts were held by Children’s Friend ($3 million), Communities for People ($418,640), Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health ($294,763), Family Service of Rhode Island ($584,547), and Foster Forward ($521,000).
